FAQ
How long is each lesson?
Each lesson lasts 60 minutes.
How do I schedule my first lesson?
Use the contact form to send an inquiry, including days and times that you’re generally available. Typically a $50 deposit is required for booking your first studio private lesson, the consultation is no additional charge.
How do I pay for lessons?
Venmo is preferred for the deposit, you can bring cash or a check to the lesson. If you’re buying a package, the total is due upfront. Any discounts can only be applied to first time customers.
Where are the lessons held?
Each lesson is held at the studio MAC Studios, located at 595 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO. If you are located in or near Denver, you may request availability for our South Broadway St. location.
What type of shoes should I wear?
Wear something with a smooth sole (hard leather is great!) that are comfortable to move in. Heels are not required for any dances. If you’re preparing for a special occasion like your wedding dance, bring the shoes you plan to wear.
Do lessons expire when you buy a package?
Yes, 6 months from the purchase date. That should be more than enough time to complete the lessons in any package, no matter how crazy your schedule is.
What is your cancellation policy?
24 hours notice is required to avoid forfeiting the lesson, but additional time is always appreciated! If you need to reschedule due to illness, please don’t hesitate to communicate that at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled lesson. The studio fee may be waived depending on demand during your scheduled time.
What do I need to know about working with Kara on a first dance?
First we get in touch to schedule our first lesson. You can use the contact form.
For couples preparing for their first dance, we always discuss music choices before our first lesson together. Having it narrowed down to a few songs before we start is helpful.
During our first lesson, we lay the foundation – how to connect, move, and some basic vocabulary.
In the next few lessons we will continue with more advanced moves while fine tuning what you have already learned. Depending on how elaborate you would like your first dance to be, you might choose a package with more lessons.
In our final lesson, we add the finishing touches and practice, practice, practice.
